Recording studio in Ghent, ROOM13
ROOM13 is a recording studio located in Ghent, Belgium, that allows musicians to capture their sound through collective sessions. Our philosophy is simple: to produce pure and spontaneous music.
So, why the name ROOM13? In the past, the city of Ghent was the center of the flemish cotton industry, and the studio was at one time cotton warehouse. Back then, huge bales of cotton were hauled to different floors using a freight lift, and our studio had a huge number 13 painted on the ceiling. Being that the acoustics of the space produce a “room-like“ effect, we chose to call it ROOM13 .
Nowadays we still use the 100 year old lift to move instruments and amplifiers to the studio, which occupies a surface area of a hundred square meters, with a ceiling height of 4 meters. We are fully equiped with a vocal booth, a grand piano Yamaha c3 and a Hammond B3 organ. For an entire display of our technical facilities, check out the backline.
We’re also centrally located in the “Muide“ quarter, very close to the heart of Ghent. Street parking is free and the R4 highway is only one kilometer away.
Anyone and everyone is welcome, provided that your heart beats passionately for music. Our studio crew is at your disposal, and we are more than happy to produce, mix, or arrange your music!
